Are we really going to use the 4e alignment system?

I personally find it incredibly distasteful, and would prefer we didn't use it.

You could always just pick an alignment from 3.whatever and place it where it belongs on the 4th edition system, just adhering to the more strict guidelines of 3rd for your own personal roleplaying.

Chaotic Evil - Chaotic Evil
Evil - Nuetral Evil, Lawful Evil
Unaligned - Lawful Neutral, True Neutral, Chaotic Neutral
Good - Chaotic Good, Neutral Good
Lawful Good - Lawful Good

That is generally what I would like, but I would like to outright condemn the 4e system because of the connotations that lawfulness is some form of greater good and that chaos is automatically some greater evil.

Does it really matter considering there are virtually no rules concerning alignments anymore? Most everyone I meet ends up going with Unaligned anyway.

That is just a reason for throwing it out, and other than me just disliking the system, no it doesn't matter.

If it's any consolation, this will probably be the last time I talk about alignment of any kind for the game. To me it's become a non-issue - you guys can play your characters however you want to. If it helps to think of yourself as Chaotic Good for a role-playing tool, more power to you.
